There have already been numerous attempts by the Hungarian Socialist government to silence the patriotic newsportal, including a claim by PM Gyurcsany for judicial aid from the US government that was rejected by the US Department of Justice.

Until last week troubled newsportal kuruc.info had been successfully manouvering and evading closure, but mounting pressure from the pro-communist Hungarian government and left-fascist lobby groups resulted in suspension of their site. US server hosting companies Softlayer and then LayeredTech Inc. decided to suspend the server where kuruc.info resided without valid US court warrants or any further explanation.

There is a growing concern that other Hungarian patriotic and opposition websites will be the targets of the rightophobic Socialist Liberal government in a crackdown of any criticising voices or parties. The Communist-style censorship and closure of the newsportal Kuruc.info might have been supported and aided by other lobby groups as kuruc.info stepping on toes by being the first newsportal to report Israeli PM Simon Peres' infamous speech: "We [Israel] are buying up Manhattan, Poland and Hungary".

The closures could result in legal claims for damages being brought against the companies.
